The Road...

Wow what a crazy month! We have been coast to coast this month doing shows and my one and only Wedding! Nope, not mine my Brothers! So we started out in SoCal @ the Colorado River Fair, this was our 4th yr there and fun always! We have watched so many of the kids there grow up, some now even have their own kids! We headed back to Vegas to perform there, then off to Florida to the Florida Fairs and Festivals Convention in Jacksonville! Met a long time competitor and all around good guy Mark Usick there and his partner in crime Tina Marie... Check their shows out sometime!

Now for the Wedding..... It was in WA held at a beautiful resort out in the boonies by the coast.. I was to be one of 3 best men and My son Gabriel was to be one of 2 ring bearers... Also I provided sound for the actual wedding and Video taped it... Not like I don't do it for my own show.... Well as I said I have never done a wedding before and neither had they..................

There were way to many cooks in the kitchen and the show wedding crashers has nothing on the craziness of the last few days before my little bro got married... Anyhow I run all of my sound Digitally so I needed to get things programed beforehand... Ok...
Well then it's what song is where and timing on everything... Ok I am good... Did I mention that I was also in the Wedding party and had to be standing next to the Groom during all of this? so it was starting to take some wild turns....

Well we got it all figured out and I remote key all the tracks from a wireless remote, tied to a Ipod very cool!

We have 9 tracks and the last one was to be the wedding march so when the minister said You are now man and wife they would turn and start walking to this song... Ok sounds good.....

Well he pronounced them man and wife and I keyed the track........ out of the speakers came "DO YOU FEEL ALRIGHT! " Then the Song "Twilight Zone" form 2unlimited started playing........ My bro stumbled for a sec and then just walked...... I was in tears laughing so hard............ It was the perfect song to start them off and was a hilarious icebreaker for the wedding........... Total blooper....

Well for you guys who want to see us at a casino or fair near you, we are working on it and my staff is busy booking my tour for this yr!

Home and Sniffles

Well this week I was home, so I decided to do some lawn care... We have a lot of palm trees and roses and rocks.... So I got out there chopped everything up, played gardener for a bit, and got a horrible head cold.... Yuck so Gabriel has been on spring break so there has been a lot of lazing around going on perfect for me my head hurts... No hypnosis does not cure head colds..... LOl I wish though.

Anyhow this week I have worked on the web site Guess what Google wants a site map of your web site. Ok should be easy you say right? Nope! It is a special xml file that you have to construct and put on your server... Google's Webmaster tools are a huge help though, Also Yahoo and others want a site map too... Oh these are not for you to see though, they are tabled xml txt files, not pretty...........

Well easter is here WOW.. can not believe it..... Well it will be fun, I got a ham this yr I think I will do Ham and beans.. Yes from scratch.... !!

Next week we are back up again with corporate shows here in Vegas! Now for those of you who keep asking me, Mo I do not want a showroom! Why is simple... Cost and time involvement Here in Las Vegas you 4wall a room now some of you know what I am talking about, however let me let the rest of you in on this... You rent a room buy advertising, sell tickets. deal with the local unions... In a word... Yuck!... I think I would rather have a permanent head cold!

Aside from that I love meeting people and traveling the US it's a lot of fun!

I hope your Friday is a good one and Happy Easter!

A New Year

Ok, so it is April 1st almost the 2nd as a write this. I have not blogged in quite a while so I don't know how much I am going to try to catch up everyone on... This is always a difficult forum in that I should be marketing all of our newest products and services, and instead I want to tell you what has been going on!

Well lets see, Gabriel is 12 and doing very well in school. I am very blessed to have sole custody of my son. And for you weird people out there.. No his mom is not a bad person, Gabriel just does very well with his dad, and I like it that way!

This last fall I was at many different Conventions and corporate events, We started out our spring season doing a 9000 mile 10 state tour in February. It was awesome!

We had stops in Texas, Florida, Georgia, and Nashville Tennessee in between Gabriel & I played at Disneyland in Orlando.

This last yr I have picked up Kiteboarding, and Gabriel and I hit the skate park on our bikes.... Yes the skate park!

Now when it comes to gear and equipment I am a stickler for the best there is. Now that does not mean it is the most expensive equipment on the market, however I don't want to spend money at xxmart only to have whatever I buy fall apart 3 days later. So I think one of the things I should blog about is our gear because If you ever want to go play like we do then good gear is mandatory!

So when it comes to Kites I have a 06 20 meter Naish Torch and a 5 meter Flexi foil Bullet. I also have a 04 Naish Mutant Kiteboard and a 06 Alex Brown MBX Landboard.

Now bikes were a different story. to be blunt I did not want a multi speed Mountain Bike with shocks front and back. Seriously though I weigh 230 Lbs so sitting on most of them it felt like they where folding in half underneath me. Not fun! So I was griping about it, I wanted a bike that was big enough for me, lite, and strong enough to go bang around a trail or a skate park without costing 5000.00 and I did not want to play around with all the extra gears that I am not going to use anyway. (for you hardcore mountain bikers sorry I just don't use them). Well after a lot of searching I finally found what I was looking for. It's called a Dirt Jump Bike, I know weird name. It's not considered a Mountain Bike nor is it a BMX Bike. It is a very strong very light bike with extra wide handlebars shocks on the front fork, 26 inch wheels and one gear. My Favorite is the Haro Thread One. It was perfectly priced (under 600.00) and takes a beating!

Ok by now you probably have guessed I am into what people describe as extreme sports. Now for you kids out there Gabriel and I never go and play without full safety gear on. We always wear helmets and pads and any other necessary gear to keep us safe.

Now if you have actually read this far you are wondering I am sure what this has to do with Hypnosis. Well everything and nothing at all. Oh I know confusing for sure however to be a good Hypnotist you must not only have a great grasp of the technical knowledge, you have to focus on the outcome. When you are involved in any sort of active sports you learn really quickly to keep your focus on where you want to be. If you focus on where you are at, you will choke up and crash.

It is the same in life. Most people focus on where they are, not where they want to be, and either never start down the path to where they want to be or trip over their own feet in the hurry to stare at their shoelaces. If you want success focus on where you want to be!

Now on a business note I have rebuilt the website, created new graphics, added new services and started to create a whole new look for the company. I hope you like it.
In my blogs I will be updating you on what we are doing. I will provide links on the site to point you in the right direction if you are building a company on the net.

Well tonight We finished up the Colorado River Fair in Blythe CA. 4 days of fun in the sun, this was our 4th yr there. and we had a great turnout for our shows. Thanks Blythe!

Catch you soon,

Justin James

Back in the saddle!

WoW, I have not blogged in a while it has been a winter, of strangeness! I have heard from many of you that I have not posted in a while, so I will try to catch you up..... The last few months have been a flurry of marketing and setting up shop back in the desert... As far as shows go we have performed in california and it has been fun, in fact this last weekend I was teaching a classs advanced hypnosis techniques... Quite fun actually... This spring I will be back in CA and teaching an entire course on hypnosis..... If you want to know about it shoot me an email! The end of March we are performing at the Colorado River Fair for the 3rd yr in a row so I am quite excited as we prep for another fantastic fair season.
Well got to run for now

Time to ride!

Well it is time to kick this beast back into gear.... I donated what I could for Hurricane relief www.redcross.com, the rest was sent to the local salvation army earmarked for relief and the local food banks... So next week Live in Vegas.. I am looking to get out of the northeast.. It has been raining nonstop for over a week now and I am starting to grow moss... Now don't get me wrong the Northeast is a beautiful place especially in the fall. the leaves turn colors.. and the days are crisp... I truly have a love hate relationship with the area... I went to college in Mass many moons ago.. In fact I studied Hypnosis out here in the early 90's ... Nonetheless I am so ready to have some sunshine!.....

Well as I said it is time to ride! time to get back on that horse I call marketing and ride it for what it is worth! I am going to be at several conventions the next few weeks booking my 2006 show season (wow! 2006!) time flys too fast........
the time off has been good though it has given me some time to put together some new skits as well as tweak some old ones..

on a personal note My Bday is Halloween so give me a bday present and have a fantastic Oct 31 howl at the moon and say my name!

God bless

Live In Vegas

Well, With Hurricane Katrina, in the south leaving me scratching my head as what to do next, I sat down and figured I would head home.... No not RI or Sacramento... For those who do not know me I moved to RI earlier this yr..... Long story however I have had a love affair with the east coast..... Just not the winters...... Nonetheless I was born and raised in Sunny Las Vegas... As a kid we had a ranch just outside of the strip.. However I have only come here to do shows in the last many yrs.... Well Knock Knok Vegas.. Im Home...... So today I am sitting here doing more Videos from my hotel rm and awaiting my plane flight to RI The next two weeks will be spent packing and moving all of my belongings. before I head back this direction.... Personally Yuck.... I think one of the perks to being a entertainer is just that I get to travel around and entertain.. I still dislike upheaval as much as any other.. and Yes I am sending a considerable amount to the Red Cross I hope you are to.....

Well time to run

Justin
